THE LOST BROTHERS mod for Operation Flashpoint: Resistance

SINAI PENINSULA V2.0 PREVIEW VIDEO:

The Lost Brothers mod team has released a preview video of their DEM(digital elevation model)-based Sinai Peninsula v2.0 terrain for Operation Flashpoint: Resistance. It comes in two sizes: 14 Meg (for Cable) & 22 Meg NTSC (for quality). The terrain still needs to be populated with objects and the release date will depend on the reappearance of Panzerfaust, who constructed Sinai Peninsula v1.0. Barring that, another skilled .wrp editor will need to volunteer to construct the map according to the mod team's specifications.

ZELDA ARMOURED PERSONNEL CARRIER:

Vipersheart has released the Zelda APC (Israeli improved M113, 2.4 Megs), made by Vixer of BAS, to the Operation Flashpoint community. The Zelda has an extra layer of metal shielding around the front and side panels, so it takes about 2 RPG hits to destroy it. It requires the IDF Soldiers & Crew, listed below.

ISRAEL DEFENSE FORCE: SOLDIERS & CREW:

Vip has also released the IDF Soldier & Crew Pack (1.6 Megs). It requires the latest JAM AddOn (6.2 Megs), by BAS.

SINAI PENINSULA v1.0:

Lost Brothers Sinai Peninsula v1.0 Large (includes all necessary addons; approx. 66.5 Megs)
If you can, please mirror this file on your own file server and then advertise the link to all concerned.

Lost Brothers Sinai Peninsula v1.0 Small (does NOT include all necessary addons; approx. 2.5 Megs)

Included herein is Version 1 of the Sinai Peninsula, created over many hours by the talented hand of Panzerfaust, and all addons necessary to support Sinai Peninsula.

This island/terrain is unlike most others made for OFP, in that it simulates the barren and open nature of the Sinai Peninsula. The odd rock out-cropping is found here and there, providing some cover, but terrain features themselves will need to be used strategically if you want to survive force on force encounters. There are urban environments that can turn into meat-grinders for all but the most highly-trained troops. Plenty of coastline is found, making amphibious insertions very friendly to those seeking to bypass large enemy concentrations. Army posts and air force bases are laid out elaborately but orderly.

The Egyptian mainland lies to the West, Saudi Arabia's coastline to the East, Israel to the North-East, and the Peninsula, itself, is the center of focus. This is the place that the newly-born nation of Israel received its laws through Moses, a prince of Egypt. The Suez Canal to the West is a major maritime waterway of great strategic importance. Despite the great heat, there are people who do live on this land-mass.

Needed AddOns(all included in the Large file):

ags_build.pbo Agent Smith's Building Pack (most current version)

ags_inds.pbo Agent Smith's Industrial Pack (most current version) Agent Smith's Industry Pack 2.1

ags_port.pbo Agent Smith's Port (most current version) Agent Smith's Harbour Kit 1.3

Baracken.pbo (not barackenworld.pbo)

catintro.pbo (Catshit's Afghanistan) Possibly V3.0

Installation:

Extract the .zip file to either your OFP/AddOns/ folder, your OFP/Res/AddOns folder (some advise against this), or your custom AddOns folder.

Coming!:

The Lost Brothers mod demo will incorporate this terrain, offer Israel Defense Force infantry units, and allow the operation of the Zelda, Israel's better-armored version of the M113.

Sinai Peninsula v2.0 promises Israel's city of Eilat, a new terrain based on DEM (digital elevation model) data, and an even more realistic portrayal of the Sinai region.

Israel v1.0 is a terrain based on DEM data. The borders of surrounding nations are included, giving OPFOR units plenty of staging area from which to commence their attacks on Israel and the Palestinian Territories/State of Palestine (as the case may be at the time of this reading).

Disclaimer:

Do not contact Bohemia Interactive for support of this user-made addon. It is quite impossible for this addon to cause your system any harm; however, if you over-stress your graphics processing unit by jacking your settings up too high, you may cause it to over-heat and shut-down (but this is true of any game). Over-heating silicon-based chips can damage them. OFP:R is designed to make use of tomorrow's higher-end systems, but users should monitor their frame rates to see when they have set their video settings too high. A rating of 30 fps at any time is desirable. Bohemia Interactive and the Lost Brothers mod team are not responsible for any damage this addon might cause to your system (even though it can't) and they are especially not responsible for any stupidity or negligence on the part of the user.
